The Bentway: Confluence

A gala celebration featuring modern dance for the opening of Striped Canary's Confluence.

In collaboration with The Bentway Conservancy, we produced an opening celebration for the unveiling of Striped Canary's large-scale sculptural installation, Confluence. Confluence invited viewers to flow through an engrossing convergence of natural and human-made forces using the picnic table to symbolize the twirling, cascading, and cresting lost rivers buried under Toronto. We commissioned a contemporary dance piece to respond to and interact with the sculpture choreographed by the talented Montreal-based choreographer Marie Lambin Gagnon. 150+ guests took in the installation and modern dance while snacking on delicious canapés by ProvisionsTO and enjoyed a selection of wines donated by the U.S. Consulate.
