Monos Travel U.S. Store Openings

Launching the travel brand’s new U.S. retail locations through thoughtful, design-forward collaborations and experiential moments.

In fall 2025, we collaborated with Monos to launch four retail locations across key markets in the United States, including Boston, Los Angeles, Chicago, and New York. In each city, we developed a series of experiential activations featuring exclusive collaborations and events designed to promote the store openings and drive awareness and foot traffic throughout the weekend. Monos opened its U.S. flagship store in late October in SoHo. The 7,500 square foot space was designed by acclaimed architect Bernard Dubois. To mark the New York opening, Monos collaborated with Brooklyn Coachworks, a custom workshop known for restoring and modifying classic Land Rovers, on an exclusive truck and matching luggage collection. As part of the activation, a portion of Mercer Street was closed to showcase a fleet of custom Land Rovers. Guests were invited to enter a contest to win the Monos x Brooklyn Coachworks truck and were gifted Big Face iced lattes along with exclusive Monos x Brooklyn Coachworks keychain clusters. For the private opening event, we partnered with Brooklyn-based chef Woldy Kusina on a canapé program inspired by his travels, with music by DJ Lovie. For the Los Angeles opening on Abbot Kinney, we partnered with renowned culinary brand Sophie’s Table to create a series of food-based installations and canapés inspired by travel, with DJ Edge Control providing the soundtrack for the evening. For the public opening, we collaborated with Sungold Ice Pops on custom popsicles including an exclusive matcha lemonade flavour, offering complimentary popsicles to customers throughout the weekend. A vintage 1964 ½ Mustang Convertible, styled with Monos luggage and custom license plates, was parked outside the store for the duration of the activation. Opening in the trendy West Loop neighbourhood of Chicago, the brand launched two retail concepts, a Monos store as well as Postcard, their first foray into hospitality with a Tokyo-style listening lounge and cafe. The launch activation highlighted the listening lounge, featuring a curated selection of vinyl and playlists that celebrated Chicago’s musical heritage and reflected the cultural ethos of Postcard. The pop-up served as the centerpiece of both the VIP and public grand opening weekend, with every activation tied to the Postcard experience. To attract attention and drive foot traffic, two vintage USPS-inspired trucks were parked outside serving RMBR kombucha, while a Piaggio pop-up offered complimentary drinks to guests engaging with a custom Monos kiosk showcasing a curated stack of vinyl for browsing. See our Postcard case study for additional details on the Monos Chicago store opening. In Boston, we partnered with Jordan Risa’s Seen Library, a community built around bringing readers together through meaningful and inclusive storytelling. For the brand’s private creator and media event, Seen Library hosted a book gifting experience, curating a selection of 35 titles inspired by the theme Mono No Aware, a reflection on the beauty of fleeting moments. Guests enjoyed light snacks, a selection of natural wines by Rebel Rebel, and an engaging discussion around their chosen books. For the public-facing opening, Jimmy Butler’s coffee brand, Big Face Coffee, popped up on-site serving iced oat milk lattes which were served alongside butter croissants. Guests who made a purchase were invited to select a book from Seen Library.
